I have a pleasure to present the ”Statistical Yearbook of Pomorskie Voivodship”. This is the twenty-fourth edition of the study which addresses comprehensively the most important data regarding the living standards and conditions of the population, the economic situation and the natural environment of Pomorskie Voivodship.

The publication contains a rich set of information grouped into 21 thematic chapters. The review tables contain selected data on the Voivodship against the countrywide background in 2022 and major information about the Voivodship in 2000, 2010, 2015 and 2022. The statistical material has been supplemented with general notes and notes to the chapters explaining the terminology, methodology and scope of information.

The latest data presented in this edition of the Yearbook concern the final period of the COVID-19 pandemic. To help assess the impact of the pandemic on the situation in our country, 2019 was adopted as the new reference year in the publication. Some changes resulting from the modification and development of our surveys were also introduced in this edition. I would like to draw particular attention to the change in some data compared to those published previously, namely the results of the household budget survey for 2021 which were prepared using data from the 2021 National Census of Population and Housing. Due to the fact that administrative sources are used in our surveys on an increasingly wider scale, the data on employed persons by place of residence have been compiled using these sources for the first time in the Yearbook.

The current edition of the Yearbook has enlarged the scope of data presented based on the Delimitation of Rural Areas (DRA) developed by Statistics Poland. The aim of the Delimitation of Rural Areas is both to ensure a uniform presentation of the results of official statistics surveys concerning rural areas and to emphasise their diversity.
